Do you remember what you were doing when you fell in love with Hip Hop for the very first time ? Do you remember how old you were when you heard your first rap or hip hop track ? Or what the day was like when you knew the music just hit you. I was playing street football with the homies from Avis block in Lawndale California, back in the late 80‘s and I believe I was in the 6th or 7th grade; it was a clear day, it felt like a Saturday afternoon, and someone in the block was blasting M.C. Breed “Ain’t no Future in Yo’ Fronting” and I just remember thinking to myself, “damn what is that sound playing ?? Damn, that sound sounded so sweet to me! Felt like I was listening to a story book in dope ass rhythmic style and vibe. It was like nothing I had ever heard before. Soon there after and once I reached High School and in the beginning of the early 90’s, I started being exposed to artists like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, Souls of Mischief, and Big L, Tupac, Biggie, and Gang Starr, and many many endless other groups and artists became a mega influences in the style of Hip Hop / Rap music I would gravitate towards. What was your very first encounter with Hip Hop / Rap Music ?
